The Importance of Bark Busters (Also known as Hand Gaurds)

Post by Rooster on Tue Apr 01, 2014 1:19 pm

Anybody else tried to knuckle dust a tree lately?

I'm replacing my hand guards, the default puzey ones seem to be intended for riders with a bit more talent than me. The big question - to put the plastic gafters on the actual metal bar, or to leave them off? Are they cosmetic, or do they actuary save levers and fingers... musings musings...  Neutral

Like I said last night..... You will eventually need them in some way or another.

Who knows? You might need to carve a piece out of it in the bush to fix something on the bike. Old Magyver trick and all that. You're good at those  Razz

Look at it this way, the plastics may only be cosmetic but it will absorb the same initial impact and spread it across the protector bar, it could be the ddifference between saving a finger or lever

I tend to agree on that one.... I'm planning a trip to Edenvale anyway, so will have a snoop around.
