Baby sitters

Post by GateCrasher on Wed May 28, 2014 3:10 pm

Hi Green Milers. It seems to me that those of us with the younger kids have similar challenges with "who watches the kids" at
Rhino, or Daytona etc etc. Well Daytona has nothing for the kids to do so it is not really somewhere we can take them unless there
is a big group of them to keep themselves busy.

For Lefty and I we are spending more and more time at Rhino and Chestnut as these are the only
places we know of where the kids can keep themselves busy. It also helps when Toothless's
sis Jess watches my 2.

So I was wondering if anyone had people we could rely on so we could share responsibilities.

I can bring a sitter at my cost on one weekend, someone does the next and etc etc.

Not sure if you GMs are interested or not? I think Cindy would be interested as her kids are quite
young. My younger girl is only 4 and cannot be trusted to do anything other than cause k*ak wherever
she goes...............

Lemme know.

Hi there, this is very much a reality in our lives, we regrettably have no baby sitters for bike rides or other wise, our youngest is not very comfortable being left with other people. Only recently will she sit with asrid for a bit, that's why I usually don't take my bike to chestnut which is a Pitty as it's a nice venue. Sounded like a great idea but difficult for us join in the idea, if we at chestnut nor rhino I am happy to watch your wee ones in between rides if you guys want to take a spin, almost like a rotary system.

Hi All,

The challenge for us is one of cost - going to chestnut and rhino every weekend is just not economically viable - we have a freeride to pay for now :-)

There are other options - however its neigh on impossible to tick everyone's boxes.

As an example, The spur at Grey owl Spur is great for kids - however some riders are not confident enough to cross the road safely. So I dont think that's the solution.

Plantland in Irene is similar in that you need to cross the road to get out, but is a awesome kids location.

The Wimpy on the R21 has a play area, you can see the bikes - and has direct access to an abundant variety of riding. This to me is still the best option for a family "trek" as turns can be made to look after kiddies while riders go out in turns of 30 mins or so.

Smuts house at Irene is a FANTASTIC starting point for all skill levels also, but does not offer anything for kids to do.

Were very happy to assist with Kiddo's outside of the chestnut's etc when you guys are ready to explore a bit further, so let us know there there like a bear! (Yogi or Cindi bear...?? Never mind).

I can't wait for Ruhi to turn 9 so I can start fobbing her sister off to her.

Ja, shame. I think we should be ok at Chestnut this Sunday. Chat some more about baby sitting
then. I also think if Jess is up for it, we can ask her to help out and give her some pocket
money.

But we really seem to be taking advantage of the De Langes. Astrid feeding Toast while Rooster works on our bikes
whilst we have Jessica watching our children!

Smoker you mean lol not Toast  Razz

Jess (or Toughnut as she wants to be called here) is quite happy to do the babysitting. Don't you worry. Lol
