Irene, Glorious Irene
Ok All,
This weekend I have been gloriously blessed to find some beautiful new rides with some of our crew! (Courtesy of Astrid for my, ughum, "freedom" lol)
I have heard tell that from Irene you can ride to Durban by and hardly touch a tar Road - Yogi and I tested this Theory, and did a 90K run and probably did less that 1 Km of tar!!
The top secret starting point - from the plant land in rene, near the Cornwall Hill Estate, past Irene Mall - provides an Ideal starting point to park and unload.
The half way point is an Engen One Stop with a Wimpy so there is no stress regarding Fuel levels.
The route caters for options right from beginner to nutter - And can be done in 3 hours or 6 return - depending on how much you want to mess around.
It can be done by dual purpose bikes quite comfortably also.
Soooo - I want to arrange a group ride with as many as possible to go. The suggested format is for the more advanced riders will do the full route from Irene and be dropped off by their counterparts with little ones. There we will unload some some of the bikes and head off. The others head off to the Engen and we will meet them there about 1.5 hrs later. They can get comfy at the Wimpy.
Once there, we can do a swop over and take some of the less confident riders can spend some time enjoying the wide open spaces and relaxing routes on that side of the ride.
Those up for it can then head back to Irene, meeting other halves back at base camp later again.
Let me know who is keen, I am eyeing the 31st for the run.

Rooster, ok, thanks for posting and for scouting (thanks Yogi too). We might see each other this weekend and take it from there? Lefty and I are riding either Rhino or Chestnut this Sunday as we have a baby sitter.

Hi GC,
This weekend is a Waaaaayyyy overdue family session. Ill be out of my box soon.
If there is one thing I learned this weekend is that you don't have to pay to go riding, no matter your level.

Sounds great Rooster. We will have to move the date to the 1st of June though. The Sunday instead of the Saturday. It is Toothless' big match at Loftus that day.

Hi Cindy
Congrats on the CRF230. Great bike. Lefty and I are going to Rhino this Sunday as we have a baby sitter and
can do the longer outrides without worrying about the kids. If there is a change of plans I will PM you. I must get yours and Yogi's cell phone numbers.
