Cindy

Rhino is a little sandy in places but it is exactly for that reason I love Rhino, the sand. Don't let the sand bother you. When I first started - I am referring to the first time I ever rode with Rooster, I was kak skrik of sand. I spent the day riding Astrid's CRF100 (this is before I bought it) and really just reminded myself - "throttle, throttle, throttle" the whole day.

Now I LOVE sand - I find sand which is not crazy deep quite easy to ride in. Obviously really deep sand, like on the other track at Rhino - might be more of a challenge but chat with Rooster and he will help you through it.

I think it will be a lot easier on the 230f, the 125f was scary on the sand but the bigger bike is definitely more stable. I'm sure we will get through it, its Yogi that really hates sand lol.

All unpredictable / unstable surfaces such as sand, mud and loose rock require skilled management of the the basic key tenets of bike control.

Momentum, Traction and Loading / Unloading the suspension.

I would advise taking on each of these domains in sequence as a focus to try while riding, in order to improve. During probably 1 to 2 Hours of coaching I can confidently assure you that your riding WILL improve. If not, get a qaud or risk serious frustration and injury.

The biggest difference between a qaud and a bike in terms of skill is that on a qaud you can back off / stop and not crash. On a bike you HAVE TO COMMIT. If you cant, ride a qaud.
